Did you now that allowing students to choose from different types of flexible seating has shown to help within a classroom? Having several options for students to choose from, in terms of seatings, allows a greater sense of choice for a student in their classroom. It can benefit their physical health by allowing students to "wiggle" and "wobble" while focusing their concentration on their work. Flexible seating creates a greater sense of community and collaboration and increases their commitment to learning. A 2012 study from the University of Minnesota found that "students participated 48 percent more in discussions in a classroom with collaborative group seating versus traditional lecture-style seating, and also improved their performance on standardized tests". Flexible seating is also fun and engaging for our students so we would greatly appreciate your help in bringing these to our classroom!
