Each individual has different needs. Some students move to different desks during the class period, a standing desk would help them. My director's chair and desk chair have also been highly sought after because students seek comfort. The seat cushions would help the wooden chairs be more comfortable. The option of having seating to meet their needs would make them see they are valued as people and learners. They have asked for our no windowed classroom to be decorated, which is where the lights enter the picture. Some of my students try to avoid English class because it is a struggle, I hope a more comfortably designed room will entice them to come. Our students deserve to have comfortable classrooms where they can focus on the learning and being the leaders of today and tomorrow. Flexible seating and tools to support and regulate their daily needs will provide a home for community in comfort, a safe space for learning and growing.
