Our students work very hard throughout the school day to maintain attention and focus on academic tasks. By providing a sensory pathway in our elementary school, we are targeting the development of motor skills, eye-hand coordination, and increased arousal levels. Sensory pathways are designed to help students develop and build upon their senses (see, taste, smell, touch) by completing various fun and engaging exercises. Sensory pathways are great tools for students to utilize as a movement break in-between classes throughout the day or as an option for indoor recess to increase readiness for classroom activities. We hope that this additional resource can help our students build upon their self-regulation and motor skills and their senses in order to maintain focus on classroom tasks!
