Graphing calculators are necessary in an Algebra class! Many students will always struggle when they graph functions manually on a grid paper. This is one of the reasons why my students gets easily bored and lose their interest in class. They want a classroom that could fit-in their generation;The Age of Technology. Besides, statewide tests are administered online where the TI-84 is built-in or embedded in the test as a tool for the student. My school does not have TI-84 graphing calculators that could be provided to high school students so they will be more successful not only in their math class but also in increasing their performance in math district and state-wide assessments. The graphing calculators will provide my students more ease in handling graph-related problems in algebra and in organizing, and interpreting data distribution more efficiently in Statistics. This graphing technology will also prepare my students to achieve a better score on SAT that will help them earn scholarships when they pursue college.
