Just imagine a small child being able to literally get into the book. Using big books in our classroom will help students as a whole group engage in the story and then students will use these books in centers to reinforce language, writing and speaking. Let’s be honest, BIG BOOKS are just fun and all ages want to read them and experience a favorite story. The set of big books will help build confidence in their reading skills after hearing the story multiple times in class. My students will be able look for words that are used most often in reading, practice fluency and be able to retell the story in centers.
