My yearbook students begin from nothing but blank pages and learn to create a yearbook from beginning to end. They come up with the ideas and make the pages happen. A component in this is the photography. They have to decide what their pictures will look like and have to take the pictures themselves. I am also a professional photographer and they are currently using my pro level cameras. They are heavy and not as easy to use. I also am a bit nervous about them toting them around campus. This smaller, lighter camera would make it much easier for them to carry to classes and take pictures throughout the campus. While it is smaller it can still be used to learn all about f-stops, shutter speeds, and ISO.
