These Active Learning Stools, Flex-Space Balance Ball Chairs, Flex-Space Floor Seats, Peanut Ball Chairs, and portable lap desks will allow for a multi-sensory approach to learning that will contribute to sustained focus, positive behavior, and better learning outcomes for my young students. Just as adults sometimes need to get up and take a walk or pace the room while we think and brainstorm, children also need outlets for moving and fidgeting during the school day. Physical activity is correlated with higher academic performance, better overall health, and improved behavior. Studies have found that short bursts of movement in the classroom contribute to better on-task behavior. These flexible seating options will provide my students with the ability to wiggle while they work. They will be able to change positions and move throughout the day. The opportunity for choice in seating will empower my students as learners.
