Our students will have an intensive, hands-on workshop about African culture and drumming. We will be studying African history and culture in Music, Art, and Media to prepare for these workshops. Nashua Community Music School will be providing an in-depth view into the culture and techniques of African Drumming. Each class will have a full 50-minute workshop to learn about African Drum Circles and their cultural impact. Each workshop will be specifically created to suit the needs of each different grade level in our school. Students will have the opportunity to perform on multiple African rhythm instruments while also learning about the history of the instrument and its place in the drumming circle culture.
