In agricultural education courses, students have the amazing opportunity to learn basic and advanced woodworking and welding skills. Using the many tools in our shop, students have built a variation of projects. These range from basic middle school bird houses to much more advanced items, like furniture, hay bale rings, feed troughs, and continuous panels. While we have the basic tools that we need, our class sizes are continuing to grow. Many of our tools are becoming worn out, requiring frequent repairs, or have become unsafe. A new chop saw and circular saw would provide efficiency and safety in our learning environment. Not only are these students learning to build projects, but they're also developing basic life skills that will help them in their future endeavors. Students are learning basic safety, responsibility, and knowledge regarding these tools. I have seen how these skills can positively affect my students and their confidence.
