We have worked very hard this year turning our classroom into a community. The respect these kids have learned to show for each other, and the care they give each other, make me so proud to be their teacher. Everyday I teach curriculum, but it's more important to teach children. By adding these drum pads and drumsticks, not only will I be able to introduce them to the fundamentals of drumming, but they will benefit from making their very own Drum Circle, thus bringing our classroom community to the next level. This will be something they will always remember from their year as 2nd graders. Hopefully their bonds, friendships, and possibly love of music and desire to keep drumming, will stay with them forever.
