All of my students are passionate about education, but they lack even the basic supplies to take charge of their learning. Our classroom lacks paper and pencil, and many of the students do not have notebooks to take notes or complete their assignment. It's absolutely devastating to watch students who come from low-income families suffer in an environment intended to open their minds. The lack of resources available continue to perpetuate the education gap and clearly outlines education inequality in this country. I've shelled out my own money to pay for pencils, books, tissues, glue sticks, and so much more. The problem of funding is detrimental to our students, and it has gotten worse over time. I will go to great lengths to secure basic resources for the classroom, and I hope you can see how important this project is to bridge the school-supply gap and provide for the students.
