With a large increase in our ELL population due to COVID, I have struggled to meet the needs of my students ELL. With limited resources, finding activities in their native language is a struggle. As a result, my ELL students are struggling. They only get pulled once a week to learn English and with the hit of COVID last year, they did not get a full years worth of instruction. With an iPad I can use several instructional apps to increase engagement and better cater to their language needs. I would like to create lessons and units that are in their native language in addition to English. The iPad has apps to assist in that process with translations scanner apps, translators, and other useful tools. In addition I would like to provide them with an opportunity to continue to grow in their second language.
