This project will allow my students to move throughout the day. With the schedule that we are given, recess is limited to 10 to 15 minutes per day. Without the ability to move, learning decreases and behaviors increase. The exercise balls, donuts, and paddle seats will be used for all subjects throughout the school day. I want to give my students an environment that allows them to move while learning. Research has shown that movement increases engagement and focus due to the increase of blood flow to the brain. These little bodies need to move and flexible seating is a safe alternative to the traditional classroom seating that will allow them to be successful.
