Turn those "can'ts" into "cans!" More than half of my first graders are not reading yet, and are already losing confidence and interest in the subject. Some children are still working on basic letter knowledge, while an entire class is working on basic phonics. With your help, my students are going to love reading, and enter 2nd grade on-level! The materials I have selected for my project will allow students to self-check their work in literacy centers while I work with small groups. This ensure everyone is engaged and learning, and gives students confidence being able to see if they are correct and learn at their own pace.

About my class
