Sensory play is important in developing the senses. This sensory table will encourage students to experience texture, learn about their senses, learn social interactions and discover science concepts. This sensory table will also encourage critical thinking, physics concepts, and mathematical concepts. Creative thinking and problem solving are critical aspects of the kindergarten classroom. Students in my classroom are encouraged to work together, play together and learn social-emotional skills. Adults in my classroom facilitate student exploration to help them build positive/cooperative relationships with each other through hands-on sensory play. Students will enjoy having this sensory table in my classroom for years to come!
