Over the past two years, we have been working towards creating an environment in our media center that is engaging and interactive for our students. We have been providing various types of passive programming where students can create, innovate, play and learn. We want to continue to make our library a place in our school where students want to be beyond just the traditional purposes of checking out books and completing research projects. While these are important, we want to create a lasting impression on our students that libraries are interactive and social places that meet many needs for all learners. The donations to this project will help our PreK-8th grade students have a place to create and collaborate with their peers in a lasting way. We would like to build an interactive Lego wall in the center of our media center that will be accessible to all students. We will be using the base plates to create a wall in one of our bookshelves. Students will use loose bricks to create pictures, designs, and patterns. This will be a space where different age groups can work together in a creative way. Our students will love their Lego wall!
