Albert Einstein said, "Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better." Numerous studies have shown that being in nature benefits the physical and mental health of people of all ages. Studies have also shown that spending time in nature improves both academic scores and the emotional health of students. Our school is in an urban setting, and the best way to give our students access to the benefits of nature is to create a school garden. Please help our students experience these benefits, get in touch with nature, and develop first hand experience with the process of growing food. Our students will be using the netting, hammers and resources from this project to build garden beds and fencing to keep out animals, planting seeds, composting food waste into soil, and gardening throughout the year. Students will learn about life cycles of plants, water cycle and so much more. They will be able to eat the produce that is grown and feel in touch with nature.
