Being a teacher is an extremely stressful job, this stress often carries over into the classroom. A stress-free room will create a location where teachers and staff can go and relieve the stresses of the day. This room will be available before, during and after school. With the help of our PE teachers and community members, we will train staff on how to use the equipment that is already in the room. This will be the location for professional development by nutrition and health specialists as they present healthy eating habits and strategies. Happy teachers lead to happy students and parents. When teachers are stressed, this carries over into the classroom creating a negative environment for students. By creating a room for teachers to relax and reduce stress, we will see a decrease in burnout and increased vitality. This will lead to an improvement in classroom productivity and create a positive learning environment for students. As teachers increase and develop their stress-reduction techniques, they will be able to share these techniques with students.
