As a brand new teacher for the 2019-2020 school year, I have seen the impact GYTO has had on teachers, students, and a school overall. I want to learn first-hand the amazing ideas available to transform and develop my teaching. My students deserve to benefit from everything I have seen implemented by other teachers. From music in the classroom to complete room transformations, I have seen the impact it has made for the students. Get Your Teach On is all about increasing student achievement by engaging students, and I want to bring a wild, engaging classroom to my students. By attending this conference I will be able to bring an incredible level of engagement and excitement for learning to my students, not only now, but for years to come. So many students come in to the math classroom feeling defeated and bored. My desire for them is to learn to love math, to see math as something they should learn, something they CAN learn, and math can be fun to learn to learn. Math can be exciting! It can be Fun! I want my sweet students to look forward to coming into math, to have the desire to learn, and to have the confidence they are capable of learning it. Increasing student engagement is a proven way to increase student understanding of the subject matter. There is no better way to help students learn than to make them excited to come to school. I need support to make this happen. Thank you for your consideration.
