Several of my ESE students have the test accommodation of having the questions read orally. Currently I provide this accommodation by walking around the classroom and reading the test questions to each student at a whisper. This can be distracting to the other students in the classroom who do not receive this accommodation These digital voice recorders will streamline the process of providing testing accommodations for my ESE students. I will be able to read the test questions once while all of the devices are set to record. Then, during a test, each student who receives this accommodation will have a device and earbuds so they can listen to the test at their own pace. This technology will have the added benefit of helping students who test in the general education classroom. Many Gen. Ed. teachers struggle to provide testing accommodations. They don't like to read the test to a small group because it distracts the other students and it slows down the testing process.
