These sensory rich, hands- on learning tools will enrich our classroom environment by supporting individual strengths and needs of all students. My students excel when colorful manipulatives are available to teach math concepts and spacial relationships. Students learn through touching, feeling, seeing, and doing. This wish list of items will fill a corner center of the classroom for exploration, free play, and supplemental materials to enhance various lessons throughout the day. The math materials such as the counters, attribute pieces, and beads will supplement lessons regarding measurement, sorting, and number concepts as well as fine motor skills and concentration. The noise reduction headphones alleviate the stimulation occurring outside of their play zone. With the help and generosity of DONORS CHOOSE, I will create the MULTI-SENSORY LEARNING ACTIVITY CENTER. I hope to provide students of all learning abilities with a place to safely and strategically gain knowledge through their senses.
