Transitions are the hardest thing for young learners. Going from one area of the room to another without mass confusion and loss of attention can be the biggest obstacle in our learning. A visualization that is both musical and structurally practical will allow us to transition with less hindrance -- especially for my younger students. The carpet in our project will be used as a general meeting place and a seating chart for all my K-5 students -- each student having a specific location that will increase potential learning and decrease distractions. Here we can use the music visuals in our discussions before we move to our activities for the day.
