This project will begin supplying my class with games and tools to make learning fun and engaging. Dominoes have many uses including subitizing, instantly judging how many are present without counting. The Bingo games will help my students learn numbers and shapes as well as the concept of being happy for and celebrating other's success. The mirrors will be used for lessons on social thinking which helps children be compassionate, learn what their emotions look and feel like and help them become better group thinkers. The gears and mental blocks are great manipulatives that will help these young children develop fine motor skills as well as cognitive elasticity. Lastly, the alphabet magnets will help my students visualize the relationship between letters, words, and sentences. Tools and games like these are essential in a kindergarten classroom as they provide alternative methods of learning basic concepts.
