By exposing students to how to use calculators in class, students will be better prepared to use the calculator when taking the PSAT and SATs. Many of my students have never used a two-line calculator. They are at a disadvantage when taking high stakes tests. By using these in my classroom, students will have the opportunity to do better on standardized testing. Once students understand how easy they are to use, they will be able to use them more and perform better in class and on standardized tests. Just having a calculator to take a test doesn't mean a student knows how to use it.
