I do a lot of group learning in my math classroom. My students can be found working on various investigation throughout class, with the support of their group members, as they discover new math concepts and work through various math problems. However, sometimes, students can get off task or may need some additional support. By having a table in the front of the classroom where I can have a few students sit with me and work with me, one-on-one, it would help run the class more smoothly, and it would allow the students who may be struggling, to get back on task and feel confident in their math work. It would be a great way to also differentiate class work, as students who may be ahead, can move on, while I continue to make sure that students who are not quite there, are getting my help and learning the important material.
