We use interactive science notebooks in Science class. Having colored paper to use in the interactive notebooks makes a more engaging experience for students. Interactive notebooks absolutely need color to be visually appealing for students and keep them engaged and be proud of the work they have created. Many students keep their interactive notebooks for years to come. The Post-it posters have been beneficial for students to use in collaborative groups. We recently used them for a plant project. The students will take turns coming to the board with their Post-it and present their information to the class. Afterwards, I can display the Post-its in the hallway to show our work!
