Studies have shown a correlation between homes full of books and both the "ability to use mathematical concepts in everyday life" and "the ability to use digital technology to communicate with others." Connecting kids with books they will love is one of the most fun challenges we have as parents of emerging readers, and can be integral in creating life-long readers. That is why I am asking you to help me provide books of high interest for students to take home and read with their parents or on their own. I have carefully chosen nonfiction and fiction books that I know they will be interested in reading and books that are at their reading level. My goal is to increase the number of books at home so that it encourages a culture of reading for enjoyment and talking about books.

About my class
