Flexible seating allows students to put learning into their own hands and minds. It allows them to make the choices that work best for them. During independent time, I allow my students to move around the room. Students are able to move to our back carpet or sit at various locations in the room. I currently have two wobble chairs and two yoga balls, but with a class size of 25, more is needed. As a first year teacher, my students and classroom would benefit with additional flexible seating options. When students chose flexible seating options, they are noticeably more engaged in their work. The two flexible seating options I have chose to order from Amazon are wobble stools and yoga ball chairs. These flexible seating arrangements will provide students with ample opportunities to make more effective learning choices, enabling them to express their creativity and get their wiggles out. I look forward to the positive impacts flexible seating will bring to my classroom!
