All students’ mathematical learning will embody the concept that engagement in mathematics is essential, and that decision-making, risk-taking, cooperative work, perseverance, self-assessment, and self-confidence are frequently keys to success. At our school, we teach students to be leaders; We set high expectations for all students, we expect students to take responsibility for their own learning, and provide the increased support necessary to help students meet these higher standards. Studies show that working out math problems in front of your classmates will build self-confidence in each student by making mathematics understandable, show them effective and meaningful teaching methods, relate past learning to concepts currently being taught, establish short-term, obtainable goals, and provide mathematical experiences at which students can succeed. This document camera will give my students who have not necessarily been introduced to using technology in the classroom an opportunity to not only experience the new age classroom but it will boost their confidence and knowledge. This is why we need this Document camera.
