My students are most engaged when learning from hands-on STEM activities. They have not been exposed to computer programming. To model automation in a manufacturing plant, they will build a robotic arm from LEGO Mindstorm EV3 to pick and place objects. Mindstorm provides a graphical programming environment that you can build a basic program by dragging-and-dropping. Students can learn programming concepts such as loops, switches, states, concurrency. They can advance to Python, which is a top language for future learning in Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) concepts. We need 6 sets of Mindstorms for each classroom that will be split into two Donors Choose projects.
