Interactive Read Alouds are a powerful instructional tool that allow all students to engage in rich, powerful texts that are age-appropriate and expose them to grade-level text, no matter what their reading level is. Having a variety of texts that teachers can utilize allows students to see and hear themselves and their families in books. Students need to see themselves in the characters in front of them and see all the amazing things that all children can accomplish. Groups of English Learner students will be learning about a variety of topics from families, neighborhoods, school items, countries around the world, etc., and be able to ask questions and share their new learning on a daily basis by utilizing the books I have selected for them.
