Due to the large use of technology in the world in which we live, the use of technology in teaching and learning is essential if we are to make a lasting impact on how our students learn. Technology has a positive impact on our students learning. It causes students to be more engaged; thus students often retain more information. Having a chromebook device for each of my students would provide hands-on learning opportunities that can be integrated into the curricular areas, such as mathematics, reading, science, and social studies as well as other areas. Technology would encourage students to self-directed learning which would create participation in their learning process, rather than lecture based environment. Technology can level-up the classroom by providing accommodations for struggling or disabled students. It gives students opportunities to collaborate with their peers resulting in learning from one another. All of these factors can lead to a positive impact on student learning and motivation. The possibilities would be endless for my students with access to this kind of technology. Currently, due to the lack of devices, my students are left without the resources they need to succeed.
