I teach kindergarten in a low income school where students are entering kindergarten with extreme social and emotional delays. Students do not understand their feelings, ways to cope with their trauma, and maintain healthy relationships with peers. Because of this, students miss out on learning foundational skills needed to succeed in their school career. These students need the tools Second Step Curriculum teaches to help show them how to use healthy coping strategies when their emotions get the best of them. Social and emotional delays have caused severe issues not only in my state, but across the country. Please help the generation after us have the best start in life!
