A warm and invited learning space is important to children. The need a classroom setting that makes them excited to learn. The carpet will be the place that my students come to share their learning, listen to stories, read with friends, engage in math talks and activities. I will teach most of my whole group lessons at this carpet, and do our morning meetings and community building activities here. This learning space will be used when the student come back to class. We will be social distancing. The carpet will allow the kids to be spaced apart at their designated square, but also provide them with a bright and welcoming spot to gather. We will also be able to use the carpet after social distancing requirements are lifted. The wobble seats will be essential for kids that need more movement. They provide just enough wiggle room for active kiddos. All in all, I want my classroom to be a place that kids want to be. A place that makes them feel happy as soon as they enter. I believe that flexible seating and a bright space is perfect for primary kids.
