Currently we are working on three short film projects and five commercial/PSA projects. I share important information, lessons and demonstrations of film techniques everyday. The projector is the heart of my classroom. Not for just taking notes, it provides a window to the imagination. We screen inspirational films, test color palettes, breakdown scenes, investigate camera techniques and have the students present and provide feedback to their film visions. Currently, I can't play high definition videos at the moment because the projector I have is over ten years old. It doesn't have HDMI inputs. Another issue is that I have two classrooms and I have to carry it between my classrooms. Breakdown and set up time can eat into instructional time. The students are very engaged in this process, so I want to make sure they have all the time they need to pursue their passions, learn a skill that they can make a good living with and add their voice to the great human tradition of storytelling.
