Creating an inclusive classroom environment is an extremely important part of education. When all children feel represented by the materials provided in the classroom, it invites each person to know that they are safe and welcome. Having a diverse set of dolls which portrays people of all abilities, races, and gender identities, will cause students to broaden their perspectives and generate more compassion and inclusion among peers. Our classroom is a place where all children can feel safe and included. Having a set of dolls which includes all different types of people will help to accomplish that. It is my wish that my students will be able to have meaningful conversations about people who are different from them, resulting in a more compassionate and thoughtful classroom.

About my class
