The only soprano saxophone we have access to is in terrible condition and simply doesn't work. Our after school saxophone quartet needs a soprano saxophone in order to be able to perform for others. In addition, soprano saxophone is used in jazz bands frequently, and I'd love to give my students the opportunity to perform on one. This instrument would help us in all of our after-school ensembles that not only give our students a safe space that they may not have at home, but it also gives them an opportunity to master a new skill or concept that they don't get in their 2-3 band classes per week. I want to challenge my students, but I can't do that if they are playing on broken equipment. I want to bring my students to perform for others at different locations because many of them NEED that feeling of success in their life, but I can't do that if they don't have quality instruments.
