Classrooms are changing and technology is a big part of it! I work to create lessons that the students access in a computer platform called CANVASS and in the Google Classroom. Using these platforms, students are able to work at their own pace and even have individualized "playlists" for learning. These lists give them books, articles to read, videos to watch and respond, and some Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM)Activities to complete. With students watching different videos and creating different projects at the same time, headphones are essential to avoid distractions and for students to focus on their individual needs. With more focus and attention, students will have more academic success! In addition, the headphones will help since I have many students with dyslexia and some English Language Learners. They are able to learn content by listening to non-fiction articles on the computer. They also enjoy books on the computers. I also plan to leave the headphones, with storage baggies and STEAM Materials, with storage containers at our STEAM Lab so everyone at our school can benefit and use them for many years to come. At our school, creativity and collaboration is what we all focus with our students on a daily basis.
