Even though we live in a rural area, many students do not have the opportunity to learn about the science that lives around them. The Ozark Natural Science Center provides an incredible experience where biology, geology, astronomy, and ecology all come together for real world learning. STEM meets Real World Learning. Students will attend two different nature hikes, where they will learn about the interaction of different Earth Systems. Students will attend classes led by teacher-naturalists and will learn about properties of water, predator-prey relationships, and how scientists use radio tracking to learn about animal behavior. Students will not only learn about nature, they will learn how to be good citizens of nature. This overnight field trip is a fantastic opportunity for our fifth-graders to see science in action and have real world learning experiences. This DonorsChoose fundraiser is one of many fundraisers done throughout the year so every student has the opportunity to participate in this once-in-a-lifetime trip.
