My students are taking Algebra 1 for high school credit this year. A graphing calculator is a wonderful tool to help expand each student's knowledge of functions and equations. Graphing calculators allow an approach to some problems that students are otherwise unable to see. When students are exposed to different technologies, it helps them become better prepared for an increasingly more technological world. With the help of a graphing calculator, students will be able to apply the knowledge that they already have about functions and equations to more complex problems. As students experience the different outcomes that a graphing calculator produces, they will be able to begin to apply those outcomes to each new problem that they face.
