Flexible seating through bean bag chairs will give my students the opportunity to learn in a situation where they are most comfortable. Currently, in the classroom, I have mats that some students choose to sit on, however I think bean bags would be much more successful and comfortable. I already utilize standing desks for students who want to stand and this will be an added bonus to my classroom! Checking for understanding is vital in my classroom to make sure everyone is on the same page before we are able to move on! I already have a class set of white boards, but with 140 students, white board markers run out quickly! I would appreciate having these white board markers as backup that I will be able to use for the rest of the year! Finally, the Atlas and geography materials will be very helpful with our continents units next year! I will have a specific Atlas that students will be able to reference for questions like, "where in the world are we talking about right now?" This Atlas comes with a few supplemental materials that will be incredibly helpful in my quest to bring the world into my classroom.
