The items a typical classroom consumes the most are pencils and cleaning supplies! I try my best to stay on top of germs, especially on desktops. Students run through pencils because they are used every day, all day. As for the batteries, I have a pencil sharpener that is battery operated. A student is in charge of sharpening student pencils while I am teaching and it works great! We use our pencils to work out math problems, write a story, and work on our grammar skills. I also love to teach my students different art techniques while using their pencils! I have made it my goal to also provide a quiet space in the classroom for students to calm down, read or work quietly. I have already obtained comfortable seating and all I have left is a rug to round out the peaceful environment.
