Manga is culturally relevant amongst high schoolers, yet most educational institutions do not include Manga in curriculum. Manga continues to prove to be a way into gaining reading interests amongst young people. Any opportunity to connect to students' interests should be celebrated and explored in every classroom. This library will serve student interests and to help build a culture of reading, and writing. Manga can be expensive and school budgets are always squeezed tight to eliminate new reading materials. Books are essential, especially books that are focused around students' interests. This library collection will meet students where they are in their reading interests and build a shared culture in the classroom. This library will give my school the opportunity to build reading groups and focus on skill areas students need to build. It is our role as educators to develop student-centered learning opportunities. This library will help us continue to build a student-centered reading environment.
