Students need materials for an effective listening center. Hearing fluent reading will help students become fluent readers. The ability to follow along will also help with their sight word recognition and vocabulary. While I work one-on-one with some students during guided reading, a listening center will be another great option for students to rotate to during our rotations! Students working independently with a book will help them improve their comprehension skills, which is necessary in order to succeed in reading! Students will really benefit and grow from this new center and I have a feeling they will be fighting over who gets to go to it next!
