I try to design my intervention stations around my students areas they need reinforcement in their learning. My learning intervention stations are structured around 5 stations that students visit while the teacher meets with guided reading or guided math small groups. My students will use magnetic letters, and CVC dice to build word patterns. Then, students use leveled sight word cards, readers, and sight word sentence builders to build fluency with sight words. Then, the Listen and Learn Comprehension Activity set will help the students learn to read for meaning. Finally, the students will use sound phones to hear themselves so they can focus on the sounds they make. My objective is to give my students a firm grasp of literacy and math skills so they are successful with the curriculum. The math intervention stations will help build a better understanding of basic math skills so the students have a firm foundation as they learn to compute higher level math. The place value blocks along with the part whole place value mats will give the students a hands on opportunity to learn about place value. The flip and solve math boards along with the magnetic ten frame answer boards will give the students a fun but useful way to practice math skills. Students who have difficulty will receive Tier 2 instruction to fill in learning gaps. My ultimate goal is to have all students working on grade level by the end of 1st grade. Students will work in small group, partners, and independent activities that allow all learning styles a better opportunity to learn. If awarded these materials, I look forward to using them for years to come to continue to meet the needs of my learners.
