These items will help reduce stress and anxiety in my classroom. The students will be able to use which ever of these tools they need to help self soothe so that they can focus and pay attention while learning. Students will be able to have the extra sensory output that they need in order to help them be successful while learning. Students often need to know they are in a safe space, sometimes the weighted lap blankets help them feel more safe and secure. Something as simple as an extra 'smelly' can go a long way in calming their anxiety. (We use the chapstick as a 'smelly' on their arms to help calm and soothe!) I want my students to be exposed to all the sensory/educational/social and emotional needs that I can give them while with me at school. These items will help with that!
