I would like to expand the advanced Social Sciences offered by our school. Our Administration is more than willing to approve such courses, however, the caveat is that the course be at no cost to the district. This has been the barrier to adding additional and beneficial courses. The out of pocket cost to teacher (who want to offer additional courses) is just too prohibitive to follow through on such a project. We have the students who are eager to learn and faculty willing and able to teach, if only there was a way to finance to course. This is the "Golden Opportunity" many of us have been looking for. Being able to offer advanced Social Sciences would be a great way to prepare students for college, especially those going into a Social Science Field with the proper text to teach "Sports in American History: From Colonization to Globalization."
