I teach in a school where many of my students grow up in poverty. As a result, some of these students haven't read a book until they get to our school. As many of you know, reading can be an escape from reality. I'm looking to give my students that opportunity, to escape to a world where they can be anything, do anything, and rise above the struggles that they face. By supporting this project, you are giving students the opportunity to own a book of their very own! As Neil Gaiman once said, "“A book is a dream that you hold in your hand.” What better way to show the Christmas spirit than to give provide a child with their very first book?

About my class
