For many of my students, their time in school is the only environment in which they are able to process emotions healthily and safely, and where they are able to comfortably be themselves. We work hard to support one another and create an atmosphere of safety, love and learning. My students struggle with anxiety, depression, autism spectrum disorder, and post traumatic stress disorder. Getting through the day can be of particular difficulty for my kids; so I am building a space in which they can consult, meet, process, grow and develop into citizens who are emphatic up-standers, people who practice kindness and courtesy, and people who will contribute to making those who are marginalized feel less so.

About my class
