Technology is a daily activity and resource in my ELA classroom. having access to a variety of apps, provided by the school, the students will be able to develop a deeper understanding and love of books. These tablets will allow the students to engage in independent reading at different entry points meeting their individual learning needs. The tablets will also allow me to track a student's progress in reading comprehension along with areas that the students could use more one on one teacher support. A roadblock that I am facing is the limited amount of technology available to my students on a daily bases. In this day and age of technology, many of my students do not have access to technology at home. Which limits the amount of access to these reading apps which can support their growth in reading comprehension. Even though they are great about rotating the usage time with having only 10 tablets for a class of 30 or more students the time is extremely limited. By adding more tablets to my classroom, it will really help the student have the productive screen time needed to push their reading abilities to the next level. By donating to this project, this will not only help to improve and increase student attention and pivot, but you will also ultimately help to increase their academic achievement. Students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand, and not on time limitation. Plus in this technology literate world, any interaction with updated technology will increase their literacy as well as their desire to learn.
